미국 워싱턴 D.C. 연방 항소법원이 도널드 트럼프 대통령이 추진 중인 약 4억 달러 규모의 백악관 연회장 증축 공사를 계속할 수 있도록 허용했다. 앞서 연방 지방법원은 의회의 예산 승인 절차 미비를 이유로 지상 공사 중단 명령을 내렸으나, 항소법원은 공사 중단이 대통령의 안전과 국가 안보에 미칠 영향을 재검토해야 한다며 해당 명령의 효력을 정지시켰다. 이에 따라 백악관 동관 부지에서 진행 중인 연회장 및 지하 군사 복합 시설 건설이 당분간 지속될 전망이다.
